Aquarium of the Pacific

100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA 90802

Relax and enjoy the animals at the Aquarium of the Pacific

Feed some moon jellyfish, visit the Lorikeet Forest, and get hands-on with some rays! There is so much to do at the Aquarium of the Pacific, and if that isn’t enough, there are whale watching excursions just steps away. There is even a shopping outlet within two blocks that has many of popular stores, restaurants, a theater, the famous Ferris wheel, and even a pier with an arcade. The Hyatt hotel is located within this plaza so there is no need for a vehicle; if you wish to stay in the immediate area, you will always find something to do!

Feed the Moon Jellyfish

One of the many exhibits at the Aquarium of the Pacific is the Moon Jellyfish feeding station! You can even touch the jellyfish, although you will need to be extra careful considering they are rather delicate; use two fingers to gently stroke them after feeding them.

Shark Lagoon

The Aquarium of the Pacific has two touch pools that are home to bamboo sharks, epaulette sharks, cownose rays, and fiddler rays. All of these animals are safe to interact with, but like the moon jellyfish, use two fingers to gently touch their backs and do not tug or pull on them! Younger children may need close supervision to ensure their safety as well as the animals safety.

Interact with the Lorikeets

Do you love birds? Get up close to these beautiful birds and hand feed them! Going into the Lorikeet Forest enclosure is free of charge but if you do have to purchase a cup of nectar if you’d like to feed them as you walk on by. Still, even without the nectar you’re likely to these beautiful bright red, blue and green birds flying and roaming through the enclosure.
